How is squad placement determined?

  • Squads are determined on age/grade. With our league size and growth, we divide squads within divisions taking into consideration all requests and skill level to make squad placement as fair as possible.

Can my younger child be on the same squad as my older child?

  • We highly encourage for cheerleaders to be on the same squad as those within their age group/division. If a parent would really like for their younger child to be on a squad with their older child that is in a different age group/division, they are eligible to be a Mascot.

As a Mascot:

If the younger sibling is in Pre-K through 1st grade, they will practice only the first practice of the week for the first hour and cheer until half-time at games. A parent must be present for all practices and games to supervise their child. During games, the Mascot will need to be picked up at the start of half-time. They will not be eligible to compete at the Central Texas Competition.

Please note that the Cheer Director holds the right to move the younger sibling down to their own age group/division if it's not a good fit.

Can I coach my child’s squad?

Yes! We have several opportunities at all levels for coaches, assistant coaches and pack parents. Please contact Ashley.Voll@cpyfa.com for more info!
